Remnant: From The Ashes Speaks Up after 8 Months of Silence
Remnant: From the Ashes was a complete sleeper hit when it launched last year and now it's adding onto that legacy with its recently announced DLC: Swamps of Corsus. This new DLC will cost $9.99 and will be coming to PC via Steam on April 28th with console versions for PS4 and Xbox One confirmed but will be releasing later.
Swamps of Corsus will be adding content for both buyers of the DLC and for those who just want more content for the base game.
The free content coming to Remnant includes new bosses for Corsus story mode, all with new dungeons, tilesets, enemies and loot to earn, a brand-new difficulty called Apocalypse and a new vendor that sells armor skins.
But the main attraction for this new DLC is locked behind the paid content and that the new Survival mode, which added the highly requested rogue-like experience to the game. The point of Survival is just that, survive as long as you can based upon your skill, knowledge and decisions. When just starting out, the mode gives players a pistol and some scrap, but no armor, mods or traits to help you – those you need to earn. As players progress through Survival, they will experience new locations, new enemies, bosses and potentially earn a new, unique armor set for the mode. But be warned, as with all rogue-likes, once you die you restart from square one.
But Survival isn't the only new thing coming to Remnant – Corsus is also getting an upgrade!
Corsus is a swampy region in Remnant that felt a bit out of place at launch due to its short lifespan and imbalanced boss battles compared to other biomes. This update aims to fix that with new bosses, enemies, more locations to visit and rewards to earn, including some previously datamined weapons: The Butcher's Flail and Scarab Gun. These two items were found in the game's files previously, but weren't available until now, confirmed through the infographic that Gunfire Games released.
There will also be newly added story content, such as quests and events to engage with and hopefully we finally get to face off with the Queen of the Swamp, a powerful creature who is connected to all things living…and insects.
The Swamps of Corsus DLC will release April 28th for $9.99 on PC. If you haven't bought Remnant: From the Ashes yet, but want to; Gunfire Games will be releasing a bundle that includes the base game, plus the new DLC for $45.98 on April 28th as well.
